Does anyone know how long does it take to get a copy of the lease from the Land Registry?

Cheers!

I think it depends on your situation - whether you're in a brand new property (that can take longer) and how the vendor's solicitors have dealt with things (!)

In all seriousness - I bought a brand new shared-ownership flat in January, and due to the vendor's solicitor's being less than organised, only received my Land Registry paperwork through in June. Apparently that's a "worst case scenario" mind!
  • I don't know how long it takes but you could phone your local land registry office. http://www.landreg.gov.uk/regional/

When I called my local office about lease documents they said I could get a copy by writing to them with a fee of £2 (I think).

How long it takes I guess will depend on their workload.

    Good Luck.

    Hi,

You can apply to any Land Registry for a Copy of a Registered Lease.

It should be a available in a few days, usually 48 hours.

However be aware that since 7 August the fee for a copy Lease is £20.

You can pay by cheque. You may also be able to apply in person and pay pay CC, but unlikely to get the document there and then. Depends how it was filed, paper or electronic.

  • If it's already registered, you can get it instantly online
