Ask your IT department. Chances are they've blocked any software being installed on any work computers unless they do it themselves. If you try to get around this, you may find you've breached your contract at work, and could end up in big trouble. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

some linux boot CD's have DVD players built in but it would only allow you to watch DVD's (not work as well as Windows not loaded )and need 2 drivesEx forum ambassador

It's probably something similar to: http://portableapps.com/ however, I should check your employment contract if I were you as you were advised they don't want you to be doing something they prohibit so if you persist, the consequences are all yours. Also, there is a portable version of WinDVD, however as far as I know it isn't 'official', or at least the creators of WinDVD didn't create it.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
Thanks for this.......

No problem, as for the 'where' I don't know. A friend of mine has it on his USB key, he probably got it from one of those 'file sharing' sites I'm not allowed to discuss on here. As I said, it's not 'official' as far as I know, it's a cut-down version of the original application. There's a cut down version of videolan (https://www.videolan.org for the full release) on the portableapps.com site however and that will play just about all video\audio content.
Sorry I couldn't help futher.
