locked out of house

hiya,

I'm locked out of my house.
It's a yale lock.
The keys are inside.
I think I need a locksmith.
I'm putting off phoning one until tomorrow (because I think it will be cheaper)

Does anyone know of a reasonable locksmith on the south side of Glasgow?

Many thanks,

yogi

If you have any small panes of glass near the lock, also consider breaking the glass and getting it reglazed. It may be cheaper than calling out a locksmith. Best thing is to get a quote from any locksmiths, and glaziers before you decide what to do.

We've done these jobs a few times. We've been told that locksmiths have wanted around £100 for a callout whereas our lowest callout charge for a small pane was just over £50.

    hiya,

the problem is that there is a 6 pane window that I'd have to entirely demolish.
It's a yale lock, all I want to do is get inside the house without the yale lock being drilled out etc.

Is there a guaranteed way to find a reputable locksmith?

    many thanks,

    hiya,
me and a friend drilled the lock and replaced it for 20 notes.

Sweet. If you don't fancy that, and are in glasow..."argyle locks" have cut keys for me before, and given me good advice. ( I didn't previously realise that key cutters were also locksmiths, hence the original post)

If I wasn't going to drill the lock, I'd have asked Eddie to open the door for roughly 50 quid.

ps, I have no affiliation with Eddie, I simply trust him to give me good advice.
