Two plumbing visits for less than £12

I just got a letter in the post from Veolia Water saying they're offering 11 and and a half months of plumbing cover for just £11.88 for the year (the trick is that after 12 months the price goes up to £84.99 per year, so you must remember to cancel the direct debit).

The £11.88 includes two claims per year up to £2,000-worth each.
Seems like a good deal to me.

Whats not covered (pretty much everything):
- Non-emergencies - please see the Terms and Conditions for details of these
- Central heating breakdowns
- Maintenance e.g. replacing tap washers
- Existing problems
- Replacing tanks, cylinders, sanitary ware or radiators
- Guttering, down pipes and rainwater drains
- Shared drains outside your property boundary
- External water supply pipe.

I don't agree - although the lack of central heating breakdown cover is pretty useless
I get blocked drains and pipes in my flat fairly regularly, this is good for that.
Although I wouldn't want to use it for anything else having seen what's not covered0 -

i think maybe if your plug gets stuck they might send someone out to advise on removal - you can't expect them do actually reomove it0

These 'insurances' are an absolute scam and I don't believe that people are so gullible as to actually fall for it.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
