American Fridge/Freezers

I would like to buy one of these with the ice/drinks dispenser but wont be able to fit it near my (mains water). I do have mains water pipes conceled running up the wall in my kitchen. Would l easily be able to tap(excuse the pun !!) into that to run the fridge.

Thanks :D

This should be a reasonably straightforward plumbing job, it's just a matter of getting a cold feed to near the fridge. (Now you've asked I'll have to go and see if you need a check valve on it, there might be one built in to the fridge) You will probably have to terminate the pipe with a tap like a washing machine connection. http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=101168&ts=78416&id=15102

Oh you've got me worried now, that it needs a drain! Have you tried searching the manufacturer's website for fitting instructions, that's usually worth a go?

Usually they only need a cold feed. All the ones I looked at did. I have run a small clear plastic pipe along the top of the skirting board which then disappears thru the wall into the kitchen to the back of the fridge. It isn't unsightly & was easy to connect up.
