You will still get a debit card with a Cash Card Account. They are abolishing cash cards all together.

Thanks that is great news for us then.

We had only been using the Nationwide account to store Moonbeevers nil tax IPA money while waiting for them to collect it and had tried to put the odd bit of spare cash in their for emergencies, so having use of a debit card facility will be good. Will save on trips to the branch where there is always an endless queue!!

Hopefully will get a letter in the post soon then. :)

We have received a letter this morning stating our cashcard is being changed to the the 'cashcard+'. However we mainly use it on our hols to the USA to withdraw cash from ATM's & it says you can no longer do this!! Dont know what to do now, we tried to change it to a visa Debit card last year & for some reason they wouldnt let us, even though we are always in credit & have websavers with them as well. just when we thought we's found the perfect solution, using the cashcard to withdraw money & the creditcard for shopping!! Anyone got any suggestions?

Does anyone know if they still give you a debit card if you have a really cr*p credit rating?

    Thanks

I haven't received a letter. However next week is my 6 year bankruptcy anniversary! (Worth celebrating? :D) By the time these cards get rolled out I'll probably be able to get a normal bank account anyway :p typical!

My 6th year too! It went really fast, although can still remember the actual day, just a few weeks to go and it should then be removed off my credit files. I've read many times, even with decent credit files Nationwide can be difficult getting a FULL bank account with.

Try another bank that will give you a debit card automatically with a full account. All of them do, except Nationwide.

Well happy 6th anniversary to you when it comes :D 14th March was mine, still remember it clearly as well lol.

I never got round to clearing up my credit file, so the last default actually falls off in July, but meh.. no point in sorting it now. :o
