  • Hi Faye

you are doing well, love the attitude, sometimes I think if we all developed a more assertive demeanor, the creditors would start to pay attention and get some work done and get the debt paid. Being a bit assertive has worked for me and all 22 (I know a record) of our creditors have accepted and all but two have stopped interest, (lloyds of course have just reduced interest and RBS want to terminate before they stop interest). Must start to look at Ebay as have loads that can go. Principality BS is good for a savings account, they let you have virtual wee pots so you can save for seperate things while keeping the money all in the same place. Good luck and go girl go!!!

I think that would depend on how much you earned in that time: if you didn't exceed the personal tax allowance then you should be able to claim any tax paid. If it was above, it will be incrimental. (I think it's at just above £6K).

You can check on 'what's my tax' here http://http://stccalculator.hmrc.gov.uk/UserDetails.aspx and then you will know for sure what you are entitled to and how to apply.

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

Go to http: www_dot_hmrc_dot_gov_dot_uk incometax overpaid-thro-job.htm (replace spaces with \ and _ .) to read up on tax.

It may be that because you started before the end of the tax year and/or you claimed benefits, they have it in hand.

I spoke to the tax office on the phone and they were able to sort out my tax rebate without me filling in any forms. Use the tax reference on your payslip for the number of the tax office and explain your situation.

    Hi Faye,

I'm the same age as you and have been a divy too. but i am now on the road to being DF. I'm part of a group on the debt free diaries who are a fab bunch. We have recently just started or about to begin our DMP's with the CCCS or other. They are great for support sounding off or general mad chit chat.

I've been asking the tax office the same thing. I'm waiting to get my P60 for the end of the year (should come in my paypacket) next week, then I've got to send it off to the tax office and ask for a rebate.

According to the following website, last year's personal tax allowance was £6,475
