Totally...I cannot actually beleive that they are bringing this rule in - where the jesus is the incentive to get out to work when the kids are old enough...and whatever happened to the raising it to £40pw clear before making it the full amount? That never came to fruition hence my dubiousness about this....
In the meantime though I am away to text Ashley Cole and see if he fancies a bit of how's your father!!!!!! Set up for life on that!!!!:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Well this is another conflicting thing... I spoke to the CSA this morning, asking them if they'd made contact with the ex, had a few questions.
He said it was going to be £40 from April then the full amount in October.
Gingerbread have this to say...
Good news for single parents claiming Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance. From 12th April, you will be able to keep all of your benefit and all of your maintenance!
At the moment, Jobcentre Plus allows you to keep just £20 of any child maintenance each week, and any extra is deducted from your benefit. In future, all your child maintenance will be for you and your family, without affecting your benefit.
This makes child maintenance more worth having. Ring our Helpline if you want advice about this. And if you have previously been turned down for benefit because of your child maintenance, now is the time to make a fresh claim.Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. I totally agree with Loopy - where on Earth is the incentive to get off your backside as a single parent and support yourself and children? I have been there and struggled, I don't understand why the Government are so against families; they seem hell bent on making all families single parent ones with schemes like this!!! This does nothing but to encourage !!!!lessness (I'm talking mothers here who can be manipulative and have as many children by as many different fathers as they like and rake in the cash). It is not right - it will increase the social security bill, and increase the numbers of single parents in one fell swoop. Absolute madness.0

Yup, I am tempted to find myself a nice rich man, get pregnant, then I will be able to get more child maintenance from him and not have to return to work come October... lol!
But you never know, it may well encourage men to "put something on the end of it" as Mr Kyle says!!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
I doubt it as it doesn't affect the fathers who should pay anyway as they are their children - it will just make the nasty mothers more vindictive and manipulative.0

Yes, but the men might think twice about risking the chance of a woman becoming pregnant by having unprotected intercourse in the first place... mainly for all those that aren't in a committed relationship should I add.Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. I would have thought that the horror stories of the CSA to date would have got through by now but alas they haven't made any difference - the law changes won't affect it in the slightest.0 -
