New CSA Claim/IS Last 7 years...

Just a quickie...

Since I had my son I have been on IS, I have just put in a claim with the CSA. I know I will only get child support money from when they contact the NRP, but what about all the IS that I have received over the years, will they go after him for that?

I have had conflicting information and would just like to know!

Well that's what i thought, but some people are telling me he will have to repay the state as he is the father and they have been supporting his child all this time...

    No

It's only from when they contact him Miss M....basically IS gets paid whether the NRP coughs up or not.

Morally whether he should is of course, a WHOLE different kettle of fish!!!

Hope it all goes okay for you....£20pw will make a real diff when you're on IS. Don't forget also that you can ear up to £20 a week without it affecting your IS Miss M....dunno if you could get a wee Sat job or something but if you done that and get your CSA then you'd be £40pw better off :)

Got the child at a weekend! could do something in the week tho, or could I send the child out to work... cleaning the cars in the street... ;)

And as I have been made aware, it all changes in April so I should see the whole amount. I reckon it'll take that long for it to get sorted out!

Yeah I forgot about the April thing

Personally whenever any Government authorities are involved, I don't beleive it until I see it!!!

Has anyone on IS had letters from the DWP confirming about the new rules?

I think I should now start having children by multiple fathers and live on income support - I would be so much better off than I am now!

In theory when you put your claim in 7 years ago, the CSA should have been contacted and a case opened - this should have been done automatically so you might want to check that it hasn't happened, but no contact made.

Me 2 Kelloggs, when mine were toddlers, I had 3 jobs, no CS from their father, I used to do a day shift, pay vast nursery fees, grab a bite to eat, go straight onto night shift, and have next day shift off, then same again, my 3rd job was extras when I had annual leave from other 2 jobs.

In those days it was family credit, apparently I earned too much to qualify??????????? Had no choice, had a roof to keep over our heads, but I too often wonder!

to anyone, just grafting and half killing myself, for what, to be told I earned too much,,, ha, as if, I scratched by for many many years

Kelloggs/Bdt, you may well be right!! lol. I can see alot of new claims being opened when the changes are made....

Erm, yes, when I had my son, I had to fill a form in about he father, but it came back about 2 years later saying they couldn't find him. Will that be the end of that??
