the best way i learn songs on guitar is by tabs from the website

    ultimate-guitar.com

where they also have a forum and music news and it is all free
and if you can't read tabs then i can try to help you to read them as it is very easy to learn

i forgot to add they also have videos on how to play the songs

You could try Harmony Central, they have a sections on electric and acoustic guitar as well as the "Lesson Loft"

Also you there is Guitarsite, which has loads of general guitar stuff as well as lessons.

Sorry cannot post links yet, so just google harmony central and guitarsite and you will find them.)

The way I learnt was to get a book that showed me the basic chord shapes as a start, then I bought guitar magazines and learnt more from them, also playing along to cd's is a really good way of learning about chord progression and how a song is constructed.
  • Hi sunseekr,

I can highly recommend Justin Sandercoe's fantastic website for great (and free) guitar tuition. Check it out at "Justinguitar.com". I can promise that whatever your level of musical ability, from complete beginner to seasoned professional, you will find his tuition comprehensive, fun and very easy to follow. You won't be disappointed. Justin has links to his Youtube instructional videos from his website.

    Good luck with your playing!

Have to agree with all that was said above. My husband and son think he is fantastic, highly recommended!!
  • I have to agree with the last two posters justinguitar.com is very very good.

have a look on here, if you're happy working with chord diagrams etc, you can probably find nearly any song you would want to play on here...

    http://www.chordie.com/

you can register and create your own "Songbook" so when you go back you can keep all your songs in the one place...
