I search charity shops for a basket, add the vouchers and then other things such as popcorn, fizzy drinks, sweets etc. I pretty it up wth ribbon that I always save from other things throughout the year. Looks quite impressive.
I forgot to add the important bit - if they are friends with children, I make up a baby sitting voucher for them - I do the sitting, they get a well earned night out.Member 105 of 1% at a time - 23/100 :j0 -
Great idea to start us all thinking about making presents, even if it may seem a bit depressing - I don't want to start thinking about when the weather changes and I'll need to wear one of those scarves everyone is mentioning!
Hope more people can add their ideas and links to useful websites. Got to go and think of some and come back - just wanted to bump this up a bit higher on the page so more people see it.0 -
I have a knitting machine and 2 years ago I was ahead of the game and knitted everyone ponchos they went down a treat and just in time before they went back out of fashion. Now does anybody know what is going to be "in" this christmas prefer something simple as i usually make up my own patterns. Since reading the christmas thread last month I decided to start before December for a change and am collecting all the freebies . Also went to Boots this week and they were selling last years christmas gifts greatly reduced got a remote contrlol car kit for £3 and a very nice manicure set for £1.60. I must have been having a little light bulb moment in january as I also bought christmas crackers for 60p and I have never done that before!Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
