Amazon with LPG anyone?

The loud exhaust on my bike doesn't intimidate all the grannies in my home town, so I'm considering an LPG-converted Toyota Landcruiser Amazon to get the rest of them.

Does anyone have one of these beasties? If so, what sort of mileage are you getting on LPG? My guesstimate having owned a LPG Disco is around 14mpg.

MPG will be the same regardless of what car you get. It's the actual cost of the fuel where the saving comes from.

LPG 45 pence, rather than £1.10 for petrol.

I suggest you drop into the landcruiser owners club. www.tlocuk.co.uk

PS. You'll find it divided by series. The pre1998 amazon (the 4.5 petrol) is known as an 80, the post 1998 (4.7) is a 100 series

What do you mean by that? LPG is about 10% less efficient perhaps worse.

I know all about LPG having had two conversions before. What I'm really interested in is anyone with experiences of a converted Amazon.

You haven't said which model Amazon. I believe the 80 is straightforward but there can be issues with the 100.
