Pregnant trainee teacher - benefits support?

Hi, I will be out of work when i give birth in September as I will be too far gone to start my first teaching job. I will have been in recent employment for 26 of the 54 weeks (or whatever it is!) so I'm entitled to maternity allowance.

My partner will be earning 30K a year working 2 jobs (we have debt).
We pay £150 a month in council tax (renting).
I will have no other income other than MA.

What will our child tax credits be per week?
What about working tax credits if I go back to work 1-2 days a week after the birth?

I plan to find a f/t teaching job in April 2011 but wondered what support I will get up until that date. Does anyone know when MA finishes? Ta!

Your partner's income is too high for WTC. The cut off for a couple is around 17k.

Oh I thought they based working tax on the individual's income.
Do you know when my MA will end if it starts 1st August?
    Thanks!

it will be a joint tax credits claim so will take into account both your income.
So based on that you will probably get just £20 per week for first year and £10 per week after that.
not sure you will get much help towards childcare once you go back to work either based on your joint income.
MA is payed for 39 weeks, but you can end it at any time beforehand
