Ohhh - they have annoyed me.

Feb 06 - Signed up to join PO Home phone

April 06 - Hadn't heard from them so gave up and signed up to Talk Talk

May 06 - Got a letter rom PO saying that I was being connected. Had 7 days to cancel, so I phoned and explained that I wouldn't be using them now because they took to long.

End June 06 - Got a bill for £30 for one month's phone charges. Phoned up to say that I had cancelled so what were they doing sending me a bill? woman on the phone said that for some reason their computer system had rejected the cancellation and it would be fine now.

Mid Jul 06 - The ******** have just taken the £30 out of my bank account!!

So now I have to phone them and complain...hopefully get my money back. Surely I shouldn't have to pay for that month if I had cancelled? - it was their own fault, not mine.

Under the Direct Debit Guarantee, you’re entitled to a full and immediate refund from your bank. Tell your bank they have taken payment in error, and your bank has a duty to refund you. Once you've received your refund, you can then take the matter up with the P.O to have the balance cleared. x

A computer system will not reject a cancellation randomly. If the person who you spoke to mid june didnt discover the reason why the cancellation was rejected then her attempt at canceling it would most likely also be rejected.

Need to phone them up and find out the reasons... just make sure you dont do the DD guarantee refund and then also ask PO to refund it as you will end up with both (nice) but also potentially charges for disception/ fraud (not nice)

Think I will try for PO refund first - I'm looking forward to dealing with them tomorrow...:mad:
