come to think about it i had 2 till splits last tuesday... i spend approx £20.
they were 40 points for tesco anti bac wash up liquid and 50 points if you spent £2. on frozen ready meals...dont know the expiry date as i have used them...i might do a little shop tomorrow (tues) and see what happens...
maybe if people report back here with the day and the amount that they spent....we can all work out the their plan of action..so to speak...
thanks coupon-mad for noticing this......lets hope we can find the loophle in this one........:rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -

Well, my theory was two-fold and I think it's partly right:
#1. That most till-spits come out at the beginning of a week (Mondays and Tuesdays have been most successful for me).
#2. That they seem to be issued one week and then not the next (I see that some of you got them today, maybe certain branches issue them this week, and others next week...or maybe it's down to your Clubcard?).
I thought no-one would get them today, but some of you did so I see the theory needs some refining!
I didn't get ANY today and I did four separate shops at 3 different branches, varying between a couple of quid up to over £20. I even used my Mum's Clubcard key-fob for one shop, thinking mine had perhaps been a tad overused(!) recently. But nothing doing.
Don't think there is a minimum spend, but we could easily test this over the next week or so. Please continue to post the day you get a till-spit, what the points offer was that you got, how much you spent - so we can find the optimum spend! - (and if you want to) what County you are in.
I think we could compare this week to next week, although I will be away (till mid-August) on my hols from Saturday....so it will be interesting to see what we have found out by then!
Thanks for replies everyone, my OH thinks I am the only Tesco/coupon obsessed person around but I know different...........:rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Keep up the diligent investigations, Coupon-mad! I'm also addicted to Tesco coupons.
I can't for the life of me work out the science behind till spits, though. It's not the timing that baffles me, it's who they give them to and who they don't give them to. We're very high spenders at Tesco and go regularly - nearly every day in fact. Yet we hardly ever get any till spits. I find loads of them fluttering round the car park for items that I would definitely have bought given my spending profile, so the tills at my Tesco are pumping out plenty of till spits, but they're just not coming my way.
My theory (although it could be wrong) is that they stop giving any till spits to anyone whose Clubcard points balance goes above a certain level (for example, mine currently stands at 11,000 for this quarter) because they don't want you to amass a huge balance which would enable you to pay for a holiday in full. (The whole Deals scheme seems to be subsidised by people topping up the shortfall of their chosen Deal in cash, and they're clawing money back this way because the total "brochure price" of the Deal is far higher than you'd pay in a high street travel agent).
I think perhaps they issue till spits as 'teasers' to people who they don't feel are spending enough or visiting the store frequently enough?

Well, my own points balance is a fair bit higher than this and I did get till-spits early last week (250 points for £10 clothing spend, and a tropicana one for 50 points).
Now you mention it though, I have noticed that when I spent a lot (over £80) in one go - because I had a series of weekly vouchers for £8 off an £80 spend - I don't think I got any till-spits. Could you try splitting your transaction into 2 visits, or if there are 2 of you shopping together, split the stuff into a trolley each (paying separately as 2 transactions). Perhaps try this next Monday or Tuesday, as per my original theory?
My own hunch about 'optimum spend' for getting a till-spit is to spend above £10 and under £50. Just my own feeling after careful study so far!!:DPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Got my first till spit today, spent about £20 & got a voucher for £2 off an £20 spend. Valid until 2/6. Then went on to get my 1st ever R&R, it was a very exciting day in Tesco for me!!

i know this is slightly going off thread, put who pays for club card deals...
example.....£10.00 club card...if spent in tescos....
or
£40.00 id spent in deals................
...who pays the company that the deal is with? i hope you understand my question....as i can see tesco gains the loyalty, and makes on the repeat business.... but them does tesco pay the deal company like butlins mfi etc....Work to live= not live to work0 -
I got two till spits on Sunday. One was for 250 points when you spend £10 on Tesco Clothing, the other was for 50 points when you spend £2 on frozen meals. I usually shop at Tesco every week on varying days and hadn't had any for a few months.
I'm also puzzled as to why the till spits dry up for months, then you suddenly get a cluster of them. It seems to me that whenever I've had till spits it's usually triggered by using the coupons I get in my Tesco Clubcard mailing. On this occasion I handed over a Tesco Wineclub one.
I have heard say that you get more tillspits if you use another Clubcard that hasn't been used for a while. In which case, could it be that they've detected a change in my usual shopping habits? I hadn't been in their store for a whole 10 days! Perhaps they've realised that i shopped at Sainsburys instead. mmm...wonder if they've got a spy working at Nectar Card who told them I was in Sainsburys last week?0 -
i found a till spit in the car park on tuesday for £5 off a £50 shop0
