HI
I posted a few days ago about a seller who who not accept my payment through PP, but wanted a cheque or even deliver it himself to my house, which I refused, I asked him to do a mutual cancellation more than once and he has ignored me,
I then contacted ebay and had the following reply
*********************************************************
Hello Margaret,
Thank you for writing to eBay. I appreciate the chance to assist you
with this query.
Having investigated this for you I see that you have tried to make
payment and that the seller has contacted you to pay by cheque. I feel
that you have acted correctly especially asking the seller to cancel the
transaction.
Unfortunately that is all you can do for the time being. If the seller
doesn't send the cancel transaction and instead opens a Unpaid Item case
against you. We have sufficient proof from your account and your member
to member messages and the strike would be removed.
I hope this explains what happens. If you have any questions please
contact us again.
Kind regards,
Ellen Hughes

I have today received the following from ebay
_We opened an unpaid item case for *****************because the seller either hasn't recorded your payment or didn't receive it yet.
Your payment must be received no later than Tuesday, 09 Mar, 2010 16:54:47 GMT, to avoid an unpaid item being recorded on your account (and possible restrictions).
If you've simply forgotten to pay, please pay now so that we can close this case and the seller can dispatch the item to you.
If you can't reach the seller or there's been a mistake, don't worry - you can appeal to remove the unpaid item after the case closes.
If you paid for the item or have questions,
Any suggestions please on what I can/should do

The easiest way, but the most long winded would be to pay again by paypal . The other way, whch is messy and convaluted but which ebay continue to expect buyers to do is to let the case close and a strike given and then to appeal it with your original transaction number.
I don't know why ebay don't tidy this silliness up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you soolin,
I have never been in a situation like this before, I think I will let it stand as it is
and see what happens

Just let the strike happen.
You can then get it removed and its an easy process.
Even if you don't bother getting it removed, it won't do you any harm.0 -

I assume you don't get those pathetic little begging emails then from people who find they can't bid on your items and really really want you to unblock them?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
