    Good point Victoria :)
The library is something we all pay for via council tax but a lot of us don't think of using... maybe we should get our money's worth? And it's nice and warm in there too.

I can't help but think it's a real shame that Tesco feel the need to do this. (Not having a go at the OP at all btw, thanks for post). The World Book Day vouchers provide a great opportunity for parents to get their children into a book shop, at no extra cost to themselves, but promotions like this at Tesco (who obviously won't be content until they rule the world!) - just seem particularly greedy and mean-spirited.

We'll be going out of our way today to go to a proper book shop, have a browse and spend the vouchers.

My kids got their vouchers yesterday and also came home with a brochure from the Puffin Book club which the school do for fundraising. You can put your vouchers towards their books (don't think they had stock of the £1 books, though) - I guess that's a good option for people who don't necessarily have a high street bookshop nearby, and is a bit better IMO than buying from Tescos.

My own opinion is that if it gets people buying books for their kids to get them reading then good on Tesco. I will say however that if you do a promotion like that then make sure you have a good supply of stock that will last a while to give everyone a chance to get them.
