We are planning on building a new gate as our present garden gate isnt big enough and its a awkward width. We doint have agarden just a backyard with walls so the gate is really the only logically way out.
As we have a cat he wouldnt be able to get out of teh gate so we planning on put a cat flap on the gate, are they easy to fit, we aint very diy although we have doen some simply woodworking before. Are they suitable for gates too?
Thank in advance.

Yeah, simplicity in itself. I'd suggest a trip to a large pet supermarket to check out the options then order online. If you are no confident in doing it yourself then have whoever fits the gate for you do it.0

Try and get a magnetic cat flap to stop other cats entering. However, do you need one? Most cats like ours have no problem climbing over 6/7/8' fences/gates!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

Ours climbs a 6th footer topped with nails. The nails are angled so they stop heavy people but not light cats. You need to look at the different sort of flaps once you have your gate. Some are for hollow doors, some for solid. You might have to make a frame to fit it to if the wood of the gate is not as thick as a front door. If a carpenter is fitting the gate, they might be able to make you a flap from the same wood.0
