Had to smile. My nephew has bought a place with his very nice girlfriend near London. It`s only a grand a month for 40 years. The family are telling me that house prices are going back up there. Wonder why?

because anywhere near to london it would cost you nearly that to rent

Talking of polls, has anyone spotted that Martin's put another 'Which way are house prices heading?' poll at the bottom of the list of stuff on the side - below the news etc.

Pretty tiddly response so far, but it's early days yet.

Once some of our posters have gor their socks out of the drawer, the results should be much clearer. :p

    Vote now!!!

It's very interesting with only 18% thinking there will be a decrease in the next year.
I guess many of the sockies have already voted then and that percentage may be likely to decrease ;)

I haven't begun to scratch the surface yet ISTL.

Actually, I can't be bothered to either look at the results, or vote myself. I am almost "house priced" out in terms of interest. Since buying a tape from a local garden centre called Relaxation I have spent the last few days in what I can only describe as a trance like state. I am becoming a hole again, in a renewal of the birthing process.

    I recommend it.

edit: I have just realised I have already voted - obviously that was before I bought the tape.

    Hardly likely.
Hamish is not afraid to air his views as his own user id.
Why would he need to revert to multiple log ins, especially hundreds as you are suggesting.

Could it be with nearly 1000 votes, you don't like the fact that 74% think that there will be no real change or an increase and only 21% think that prices will decrease?

    Give it a chance, ISTL.

Only been there less than a day, I think.

It may of course reflect the fact that turkeys don't like voting for Xmas.

Doesn't mean Xmas isn't going to come all the same, though. :)

Nice anecdote which once again means nothing.
Another 300 votes and still the same percentages.
How long does it take or how many votes before you will accept the poll results or will you forever be in denial?
