    hi there

I actually went to the Glasgow one for the first time yesterday (could never find it until I got a sat nav!) and was pretty pleased. Lots of baby stuff in, loads of knitwear and tops etc

I got 2 pairs of linen trousers for £1 each! One pair needs taking up but so what

Also got pair of toddler jeans for £1, 4 pairs of toddler's shorts (stocking up for summer) for about £3, a fleecy jacket for my 3 year old girl for £2 and various other bits and bobs for a grand total of £13.50 - came out with a huge bag so was well pleased.

They did have a good amount of Rogers stuff there too from what I could see. You really need to spenf the time to have a good rummage around, there was TONS of stuff for size 8 but I struggled to find much to fit me (12-14)

worth a visit if you can spend a good hour in there!

have never been as yet though, so not sure what it's like, I'll need to try and make the trip down soon :)

Its fairly small, and it only really has the scraps from the main stores which they can't shift. I've no doubt theres a few truely amazing finds in there but to be honest the vast amount isnt great. Personally I would just suggest you go to 1 of the main stores when theres a sale on

Hi Harrassed - I went to Matalan today, was quite pleased with my haul. The shop is massively overstocked and have never seen quite the variety of stuff that they had today. They had lots of stuff from winter 09, loads of sparkly things, and still millions of summer 09 stuff - tshirts, sumer tops etc.

Thanks for checking that out for me. Think it will be next Saturday before I can go. Hopefully they will put some R&R in by then. The first time I found this shop following a post on MSE there was a massive sale with lots at £1.00 an item. The problem with that is that people bulk buy to resell at car boot and ebay and ordinary people don't get a chance. Know one woman at Blochairn gets best stuff put aside by member of staff and buys cages of clothes. When the offers are not as generous it lets everyone get a shot.

I think it depends on when you go - I used to visit it pretty regularly. Sometimes its not great, just really the stuff that is in the sale at normal matalans but sometimes they have great offers. Last year for example they had everything less than a fiver , most things £1 and bogof too .
