I bought 100 items from an online store at one pound each. The store took my order and money but now state they cannot process the order as it has been discontinued yet the product is still there but now 500 pounds each, can they do this, and yes they obviously made a mistake in the price on the original listing

    Yes they can.
Technically you have offered to buy them at £1 each, and they, having realised their mistake, have refused your offer.

Yes, generally speaking the contract is formed when the goods are dispatched, they can specify that in their T&Cs.

Are you really looking for a way to swindle almost £50,000 from a company over an honest mistake?

This. What if some children had accidentally seen the offer?

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
