  • Why Ripon in particular? Flamingo Land is between York and Malton, and as I remember had its own caravan park. If not I find Hoseasons a good place to look as they have lots of different styles of sites not just the big Haven parks

    Hello, i live in Ripon.

I could certainly recommend one for you.
As far as I know there are 3 residential places and the only one that i know that rents caravans it Riversied Meadows, Its out of town and lovely and quiet.
Little shop on site, club room and playground. Nice and neat park.
I think they have a couple of log cabins also.
Have a look on their website.
If you need any further help send me a pm. I work only about 100 yards from there so could call in personally.
We could meet up for a pint in My and My OHs favourite over the river pub.

If you havent been to Ripon before its a lovely little Market Town and of course we also have Lightwater Valley
    (sometimes there are bogof tickets)
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I like lightwater valley its not mad mad mad like other parks Oakwood (tenby) is good too. Ripon to flamingo land is a fair distance and there are closer parks but maybe you want ripon for other reasons than just FlamLand.
Brother used to own the boozer in South Stainley (between ripon & harrogate)
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

If you go and stay, there is a little pub on the Boroughbridge road called
the Water Rat, conservatory overlooking the river wharf, ducks, geese,
great food and great service. Not expensive either. If i come across any offers for Lightwater(its pretty expensive) I'll let you know. I have put this thread on my favourites bar. Do you know when youre going.

    Heres on i just found

Other than the Caravan park, there are lots of B&B reasonably priced places in Ripon itself.

I agree Lightwater Valley is pretty expensive. Hope to go to Lightwater June or July school holidays. I'd rather go to a caravan park as I always feel a bit restricted in a b & b with 11 and 8 year old .

Another thought liames, have a look at the website of the Forbidden Corner,
its a place i think is just outside Leyburn.
Its absolutely brilliant for kids if you happen to be staying around Ripon for
a few days its really worth a visit and a major change from Theme Parks, seasides.

I have just had our local rag delivered and there is a family token in there for £13.95 each.
PM me with your address if you want me to send it to you.
