Decorating for saddo singles

Afternoon All,

I have decided over the Easter Bank Holiday Wkd to decorate my bedroom.

But... having to do it on my all on my own :(and that is putting me off, shifting wardrobes, having to move stuff pretty heft furniture about my own etc, then not having that much room to work around the bed ....

I’m not bad at decorating, but I tend to get bored then start to rush and mess up.

End of last year I wallpapered my living room all on my lonesome (it took me 3 weeks to finish )but it looks pretty damn good as I was determined not to cut corners.

Any hints or tips on how to make it all a bit easier (I realise it’s a little way off but I want to prepared so there are no excuses!)

I was almost tempted by one of those paint runner things but read on here they are not so good,
What is an easy way to paint a ceiling? (the one in the living room looks really dodgy in bright light as I got bored half way through and left it for a few hours before going back, I know now that this is a no-no!)

I look forward to your help

Thanks
YDSM

Perhaps a like minded singleton will offer their services. Who knows this could blossom into something wonderful. ;):kisses2:

I think the state of my bedroom at the moment would put them off!

Although the wine and music may help.:rotfl:

Moving heavy furniture is always a problem, especially if you have to do it more than once. Could you move as much as possible into lounge. Even drag mattress , and sleep there. Pile the rest up in the middle of the room, at least you would manage to get to all the walls at once.

I agree with wallbash move everything you can out of the room or even put it in the middle of the room if you can't get the stuff through the doorway. Cover with a dust sheet.
I would buy the paint that changes colour, I think it is dulux -you paint it on and it is pink and as it dries it goes white this is the best thing for ceilings because you can see where there are any patchy bits or if you have missed any.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

I am still finding te idea of shifting heavy stuff around a little daunting but needs must!

I will look out for that pink paint sounds like it should be a bit easier to use.

Now all I have to do is decide on the colour!

    Cheers
    Caro :-)

I'm sure that many of the singles sites will have some capable decorating types who could come around, and you can give them a "trial"

I'm a bit concerned on the taking "3 weeks to finish" though. A clean break is essenitial, so if it don't work out, just tell them and get it over with.
