Well his full name is James Gordon Brown, but he obviously didn't like being called James Brown (I think there was a rather famous one already). :dance:0

You could not change the full name on the account unless you have a deed poll etc.
However you can ask for your name to be put on your card or cheque book in a different format.
So for example if your name was thomas nicholas smith you could ask for nicholas smith to be put on your card etc.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

.
Lots of people who have had bank accounts a long time won't have their full official names on the account. When I first opened bank and building society accounts, about 30 years ago, they never asked for i.d. or did any checks on you. Nothing like that at all. You just went into the branch, filled in a form, signed it and that was it; your account was opened. I never used my first name for anything, so none of my oldest accounts have my full name on them. I registered on the electoral roll using my middle name only (you don't need i.d. for that either) so nowadays when they check it for id purposes, I would get rejected if I did give my full name!0
