Went to CINEWORLD in Wood Green to watch a movie, what shame it was full of mice everywhere so we had to leave.

Ooh, another word of warning about them! DON'T BUY THE POPCORN ON A SATURDAY MORNING!

I took my little one on Saturday for her first ever trip to the cinema and decided to buy overpriced popcorn, (I know I know, but only cus it was her first time), BIG mistake...

The first half of the bag was lovely and very moreish but the opposite further down the bag. I saw the bloke who served me dig d-e-e-p down into the popcorn container with the big scoop but it seems that what he was actually doing was 'nonchalantly' mix up last night's, by now, stale popcorn with a fresh batch from the morning. We didn't eat it as it was inedible and were refused a refund "because you've eaten half of it", "yes", I replied, "the edible portion"... It seemed lost on him... The attitude was tough t*ts!

He could only suggest complaining to head office! I rattled off a furious email to them when I got in but haven't had a reply as yet, although they advise it may take a week to reply!

I will certainly be planning in advance and getting my popcorn from Blockbuster the night before from now on! :-)
  • I went to Cineworld in Haymarket at the beginning of December and saw mice running around under the seats and inbetween the two seats infront of me. I ran out of the place. According to the staff it's because they have eating establishments on either side of the cinema! - Don't most places in the West End?

They've offered me 2 months off my Cineworld card (which obviously I won't be renewing) but it's not really much use as I can now only go to the Cineworld in Trocadero, i'm assured they don't have mice there but I find it hard to believe.

Whilst I've never seen mice at the Canary Wharf Cineworld maybe because the screens are on upper floors, or just because of being more recently built and not an old place they took over, I might take a break from the chain in general for a few months after hearing that!

Popcorn wise, Tesco's £1 per bag and the 110g size for sweet is close to the regular size from the cinemas. Or combine a sweet and a salted bag, £2 for 200g (110+90g), and then you've got the large size, maybe even a bit more, for up to £3 less. Cinemas do recycle the sweet popcorn (another reason to buy the supermarket bags) but for you to be able to taste it so plainly, they clearly didn't bother having the mixture in the heated container for very long. Now that they charge damn near £5 for large, it's another reason to eat beforehand.

Patricia_osp knows that DC, but it still hasn't stopped her spamming five other boards with the same text.
  • Seems to be a common thing in cinema's these days, I went to the Bluewater Showcase to watch the last James Bond and either a rat or a mouse crawled up the wall past me.

I complained and basically got shrugged shoulders. Totally inexcusable and I've not been back there since.

Maybe they need to spend more time cleaning up rather than selling stale old popcorn.

    Butterkist!!!
