In April I bought a box of Aquados soap powder, packed into individual plastic? bags which you just threw in the machine with the clothes. While ironing my first load I noticed this white blob stuck to my brown trousers, I couldn't pull it off at all, it appeared to be melted to them. I decided it could only be the plastic bag which held the powder, and experimented by trying to dissolve one first in 40 degree water, and then another one in very hot water. In both instances the bag failed to dissolve properly, just left a slimey mess.
I took the box back to Morrisons, they refunded the cost of the powder and sent my trousers off to Aquados. Since I hadn't heard anything, I wrote again to Morrisons at the beginning of this month and a week later received a letter from them saying they would contact Aquados again.
My question now is, what would you advise my next step to be since Aquados don't seem in any hurry to reply. I think I am due some compensation for my trousers, or at the very least to have them returned to me

The duty of care is with both the manufacturer (for making the product which is defective) and the company that sold it to you (for selling a defective product) though the rights and powers are from different law.
As you have contacted Morrisons already it will be much easier to continue dealing with them. I would suggest that you contact them again and state that you consider the timescales to investigate the problem is unreasonable and as such you expect full settlement of your losses within 14 days, failing which you will take the matter further. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
