    Bit of a strange one

Quick obvious question, but have you tried removing & readding the cartridges again ?

Whilst you do that I'd also double check there are no additional traces of the tape on the nozzles

Assuming you've checked all the printer options (some printers actually do have an option to print a status page with every print job), it's possible that the print cartridge is out of spec or faulty, and the printer is trying and failing to align it each time (that model is designed to automatically align a new cartridge when it's installed).

If it's an original HP cartridge, I'd contact HP - if not, I guess it's back to whoever sold it to you.

Try all of the above. Cleaning nozzles, reseat the cartridges etc. Also remove and reinstall the print drivers and/or software.

Additionally, if you are using NON-HP brand cartridges, power off the printer (after doing all the above), power it on again and hit the resume job button quickly 3 times. This 'apparently' is a fix to bypass the on power up cartridge check used on some, maybe all? HP printers.

    Hope that works for you.

Apparently, this happens when a cartridge isn't correctly recognised. I've also heard some people say they've got rid of it by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers.
