FTB - Selecting a solicitor, where to look?

I have quotes from 2 recommended solicitors. But I'd like a few more. Where do I start to look. I'd prefer a local one so I can physically go there to take documents etc and not do things by post.
Is there a website that lists them all?
Any advice welcome.

I've had a look I can't find anything to tell what would a good average quote for a solicitor with all disbursements included be?
I've had a range of quotes from £930-£11100 -

We don't know the price of the property, whether freehold/leasehold, house/flat, mortgage involved/no mortgage. In some areas further searches will be needed re e.g. mining of various kinds. So giving us a figure of £930-£1110 doesn't tell us enough for any informed comment.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
