Anyway, we all have mad times. I'm sure if you haven't had found this place then you would have spent more than that many times over in your pre LB days.
I've been going through the IKEA catalogue cos me and OH have just found our 1st place to move into in September - it's unfurnished and we need a sofa(bed for guests as it's tiny place), bed (current one is knackered) and fridge freezer and i am so tempted to get everything NEW. BUT not on credit though - we have saved money up but it means we won't have any savings left!Proud DFW Nerd #62

oooh i like lizards too, tho i barely manage to look after myself i couldn't manage a pet!
rather than avoid temptation i find it works best if you say yeah i'm gonna buy myself summit. when i went to meadowhall i decided i was gonna get a new pair of shoes/bag/dress...couldnt find anything anywhere and didn't spend a penny!0 -
Whats done is done so enjoy your new friend but next time you know you'll be tempted dont take cards with you & then temptation is removed. Would love, unlike others, to see a piccie!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

were you saving up for anything in particular? if not then i guess i'd say go for it! if your not gonna buy big stuff like that form savings whats the point in saving?0 -
lynsayjane - yeah, we were/are saving for this move. I've been clearing my debts for the past year for the move, and OH has been saving. So we have done really well - but we're only renting and ideally I wanted some savings to be left over incase we need them in an emergency & for longer term incase we ever decide we can afford to buy. The rent in advance, deposit etc is going to take up a fair bit...OH hasn't been as careful with his money as he should have been  so we haven't got as much as we'd planned/hoped for.Proud DFW Nerd #62

you can never rely on men (thats two night in a row i've been sexist, i must sound like a bitter twisted old goat!)!
just make sure you guys get a good deal on the bed you like, stick with ikea they are great...then get saving again for your emergency fund, either that or try and make your bed last a little longer so you don't have to shell out on all three in one shot.0 -
