What have I done??

I made a big mistake today going to a Reptile Expo that was happening near me, and I ended up spending a fortune. I didn't go with the plan to buy anything, just wanted to see what was about, and now I feel sick!!

I bought:

2 Chameleons - £45
Flexarium - £45
Heat/UV bulb - £45
Holder for bulb - £30
Crickets - £5
Meal worms - £10
Plant - £8

So thats £188 on a bloomin pet!! I have wanted a chameleon for about 2 years, (we already have a california king snake) but why oh why can I not be sensible, and have waited another couple of years till I had the money to pay for it??!! Thats my overdraft gone again!!!

I don't regret it in terms as its something I really want, but what I do regret it spending money I dont have (AGAIN!!)

Any tips on how I can get a bit more self-control??

  • Well hopefully you bought a boy and a girl, at 22.50 a pop you could breed them and make your money back, and more!

Did you buy a Mr and Mrs Chameleon?

If you did, look at it as a possible money making venture and leave them to get to know each other a bit better ;)

Don't beat yourself up over it, iv e splurged this weekend too, it will strengthen your resolve to make things work now you have had a treat, just enjoy it and make a promise to double your efforts.
  • No we bought 2 females (purposefully) otherwise it would have been twice the price as you can't house them together, they would fight (surprise surprise) BUT if in the future we have another £140 I would definately buy a male, and he would be a lucky git with two females!!

Thanks for your replies, they made me smile through my tears!!!

To avoid temptation, I am going to do a car boot tomorrow. I take NO money with me (apart from enterance fee) food and drink etc.

If ever I go anywhere I 'could' be tempted, leave money and debit card at home.

Sorry but reptiles make me shudder too - thank goodness there are no pics.

  • If you're really skint could you not sell the stuff on, if it's all brand new you might make your money back.
My sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal
  • I can't sell them, I love them already!!

They have the cutest little mannerisms, and are sooooo cute........

PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME SELL THEM!!
