Yes, when you are dealing with Old Stylers, buy a whip

I am absolutely USELESS at keeping up with Flylady (at least, my house is still in CHAOS - Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome, for those of you who don't fly!) BUT.... I do swish and swipe every morning in the bathroom - takes approx 10 seconds; I hoover it on a Saturday morning and change the towels - and it doesn't need further cleaning. How great is that!!!! Whenever the bathroom is on Kelly's mission list (which I suppose is once every 5 weeks or so) I do her 15-minute missions, but, to be honest, they don't really take more than 2 or 3 minutes tops.
When I think how I used to roll up my sleeves and SCRUB everything in sight whenever we had guests coming - thank you, Flylady!
One of these days, I'll get round to shining my sink every night... maybe!0 -

Oh, what is a 'kellys mission', I haven't got to that bit yet!0

We've just had a thread on flylady products that I'll merge this with to keep some of the more general flylady stuff together if that's okay.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I bought the office in a bag but can't find any of the "three ring binders" that they suggest to fit in it. Anyone know where I can get one? A4 is too big and doesn't fit and A5 just kind of floats about in the bag.
Keep hoping it will magically organise me but all it's done is allow me to put my bills in that I'm meant to file as soon as I've paid them!
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Do any of you following FlyLady actually get dressed up in the morning? I was tempted to go along with it, but having read the 30-day post-it thingy I have given up - Nothing interesting goes on until day 8 and then it got too complicated... I did clean my sink though...
Anyway, back to the shoes - lace-up shoes in this weather??
I live in CHAOS and am thoroughly ashamed of it...:wall:0 -
Sorry, bj-sailaway, only just noticed this! Kelly (flylady's friend!) chooses a "zone" each week and you concentrate on clearing that zone for 15 mins per day. So for example, when she's in the kitchen you'll have one day when you scrub all the surfaces and clean out your toaster; another where you toss out any tupperware or plastic cartons which no longer have lids; a third where you'll clear out under the sink etc. It's amazing how holy you feel at the end of the week after you've cleared these things!!bj-sailaway wrote:Oh, what is a 'kellys mission', I haven't got to that bit yet!0 -
Agutka - I have to say that I don't get dressed to shoes (yeah - I agree with you about the lace up shoes in this weather! and isn't it hot in flylady's part of the world too?? how does she do it?... why does she...?)
And the other thing I disagree with her is about making your bed as soon as you get out of it - I like it to air, at least for a while before it is made.
On the other hand, her basic principles are good, and I know I feel better about doing things if I am at least looking vaguely presentable rather than slopping around in a nighty!
I have got rid of a lot of clutter, even though I can't claim to be exactly "flying" yet.0
