the clock on my monitor keeps losing time several minutes a day i keep having to reset it any idea why or how to fix it permenant?

Do you mean the clock on your computer?
How old is your PC?
What operating system do you use?0 -
If you turn PC off when not in use it’s probably CMOS battery on motherboard0

I would say it is the CMOS battery, which is normally a button type battery on the motherboard

i looked at the details within that link i think i'll leave the computer on for 24 hours as suggested other than that repairing it is beyond my capeabilityI would say it is the CMOS battery, which is normally a button type battery on the motherboard

If your computer is only 2-3 years old then i will be suprised that your cmos battery is starting to go already?
Have you been getting any BSODs (blue screen of death) on startup?
To sync your time double click on your time bottom right hand corner and click on Internet Time tab and click on the update button.0 -
No more difficult then replacing a watch or car key fob battery, those who cant buy a new car I guess.0
