Hi , i am in need of your help.
I am currently going through a debt relief order, i am dealing with the C.A.B.
My c.a.b advisor wrote to all my creditors asking if they will accept the reduced payment of just £1. They all agreed.
Natwest agreed also, as i am £2400 overdrawn overdraft.
The problem is this. Natwest as soon as they agrred on the £1 a month payback. Sent out a letter saying, find another bank.
On the same day the cash machine ate my card.
I phoned up all my benefits( i am on disability payments) and told them the change of bank account (Barclays)
Sadly this weeks payment was already in the system(£210) so it has now gone into my Natwest. I tried to get to my account online so i could transfer , but they have locked me out.
There is no way i can get to my money.
Can Natwest keep hold of it? As my account is already overdrawn, is it there right to keep any money that goes in?
I will phone them and ask, but i wanted some back up first. As i have already phoned about a seperate matter and they were pretty nasty about it.
Any comments welcome
Kind Regards Paul

if this was any other sort of payment then the answer would be yes they are entitled to keep it as you owe them money - but i think they arent allowed to use benefits to set off debt.
phoning will probably be no use, you will have to write and complain. send it by recorded postDebts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my Debts
