Have you been in a hot air balloon?

As a present im due to have a flight in a hot air balloon tomorrow evening. Has anyone been on a balloon flight and did they enjoy the experience?

have just recently returned from a kenyan safari , and one of THE highlights was the balloon ride across the masai mara , followed by a champagne breakfast at 8am.
my OH who is scared of heights absolutely loved it , it was so peaceful and gentle - both the take off and landing were really controlled.

I did a hot air balloon trip in the Australian outback and it was an amazing experience. I'm very scared of heights but the balloon ride was so smooth and floaty that I was fine, even when I looked over the edge I didnt panic as it all seemed quite unreal. Also the breakfast they gave us after was to die for!

you should love it.. i did one during the Bristol Hot air balloon festival and it's one adventure i won't forget. It's so nice and peaceful up there and despite a rough landing it was a great experience. I hope i will be able to do it again.

I've not been up in a hot air balloon, but did have a helicopter flight over the Gtrand Canyon recently. We did have to give approx. weights on booking, but then when we checked in for the flight we had to stand on the scales and be weighed. Luckily my weight was not displayed for anyone else to see. That little gem is reserved for my Rosemary Conley Class Leader and myself only!! :rotfl:

Anyway it was a brilliant experience, and yes i lived to tell the tale. I would recomend a balloon flight to anyone.

Yes, went early in the morning, 8am. It was very, very peaceful and lovely to see all the other balloons flying around (was during a hot air balloon festival in New Mexico). I was quite cold and had plenty of layers on, it was middle of February but day time temperatures in Albuquerque were pretty hot. Have a great time and beg, borrow or steal a good camera too.
