how to deal with escalating situation?

Options
Hello money savers and legal know how's
Lately I have been befriended and getting harassed by my neighbors and they associates from estate, that I live inn...
Situation is getting really dangerous as today (not sure about neighbor which it is actually), but common sited ones came back with bigger friends (having baseball bats in they hands)
It started about three weeks ago, as when I was on a way home and girls (appearance of 18'ish) and a boy of similar age had started asking me to come round and I had to endure few times of they visits @ mine etc... most commonly it had a quite a decent pretext, but began to show signs of what is about to come (stolen tooth paste after first visit, stolen food second time) as when it started to escalate(last weekend)- I have asked them(one "known" one really rough looking one to leave) well They kind off left, but came back with three others... I had a drink poured over me and ended up calling police (who came to see me half an hour later (in the middle of town)- believe because it was raining...)
Obviously nothing had happened... and not much expected as there was to happen until about an hour ago. yes, I did called the police, and they have turned up, but really they are powerless to do anything, until something really nasty would happen. "i've got an appointment to be seen by community safety officer for tomorrow" to address issues... wouldn't be tragic- would be funny, as they are of ability to do nothing and nothing else...
About myself- I am fairly fit man 34 years old of age, able to fight for myself within reason, unfortunately do not have any savings or job currently (due to recent injury)in order to be able to move out (or more precisely- run for good).
Can I ask for some sensible and constructive (ie legal tip) advice here please on what I can do to resolve this this awkward situation?
Many thanks!

Don't ever, ever, ever let children who appear to be 18 (why would you BTW...they're probably 14 or 15 or younger) into your house under any circumstances. You are a 34 year old male who is leaving yourself wide open to all sorts of accusations.

Totally agree with gordkin. It looks like your own naivety has got you into this situation. Keep in contact with the police. Report any incident no matter how minor and keep a written log of incidents/times etc

See what the Police suggest tomorrow
