Ear Plugs - The Best?

Hi. Hope someone can help me, but the last couple of holidays abroad, my 2 girls and I have suffered from ear problems. To much diving and larking about in the pool! This year I've decided that we all have ear plugs. Girls (17 & 13) are not best pleased. Does any-body know which type are best i.e foam, wax or plastic or any other remedies that might help Thanks in advance.
Nice to save.

The answer to your question is that there isn't an answer as to which type is best. The reason is that everyone's ears are different and what is really nice for me would probably be uncomfortable and noisy for you.
My recommendation is to buy online from this chap who is well known in the motorcycling world - http://earplugsgb.com
It is well worth buying the selection pack which allows you to find the one that suits you from a range of 21 different types. Useful if like me you then go on to buy boxes of 200.
F.W.I.W. I really like the Soft Gripper (pictured below)

I really like the "quiet" ones but as the other poster said it's down to personal preference.
Everyone has a different shaped ear canal and different ones fit better on different people.
The quiet ones are rubber and are much easier to wash and re-use.0 -
Sorry, I seem to have completely misread your post. You asked about ear plugs for swimming not for noise cancellation.
In that case I have no idea other than to recommend good ear hygiene at all times as this will overcome the root cause of a lot of ear problems. I really like that squirty spray saltwater stuff for getting rid of wax (I'm sure someone will post what its name is)
