I think there are normal sizes and celeb sizes. I remember when Vanessa Feltz used to claim to be a size 12 - how we all laughed.

Is that dress really a size 8? She looks amazing in it and the dress looks really edgey but it doesn't make her look a size 8. (Not that she needs to be a size 8, but the Daily Mail article says she is.)

She's petite as the length on me/my mannequin is just under my butt.
TV adds pounds esp nowadays with widescreen.

Our regular shop celeb was microscopic (25'' jeans) and looks a really normal size in pics.

What is it with the world? If you're mega-tall, you get to be a model, if you're mega-short you get to be a celebrity. What about normal height people like us in the middle (viva, 5'6", or 6' in my highest heels)?

Loved the CC dress btw, my favourite since the ribbon back.

Wow, fc, didn't realise your stuff was that famous :) The CC dress is lovely :A

I like the black and 'nude' ;) look- don't know how you would put that together in any other than an evening look though iyswim? I'm not very imaginative with clothes I don't think.....

No booze & no chocolate again tonight... big curry instead! (then I wonder why I'll never do a CC & finally slim to a size 8 :rotfl:no will power, or substances- as was being suggested on in the DM comments section!)

Bit p***ed with a certain celeb mag that came out today...pic of Ch Ch + the frock and then a 'Buy one like this...''' Looky Likey by....French splutter Connection. And I tagged the online article.......I really hate being small and invisible sometimes.
Oh to have a PR one day too... oh well, watching back to back G Ramsay tonight as on my own and need cheering up.:o

Must admit that put me on a downer at the time as I had just got down to a small size 12 (from a size 24) ..took one look at the picture and thought "Ahhhh, I still look chunky!"

Great dress, fc - your thing about bigger sizes squeezing into a size 8 and that actually being an old size 14 explains why I had years of finding size 8 huge - I'm not actually microscopic (though I was too thin, definitely), but being unable to find grown-up clothes that fitted was really depressing. :( Was overjoyed recently to find I can once again wear size 10 trousers without them falling off!!!

Which is just the other side of the coin that Sue expresses. But better, I suppose, as it does let me indulge my chocolate habit. :D

(Big, unopened, bar of Dairy Milk at the ready, BTW. :))

I like the nude colourway idea too - any pics yet? It sounds nice as quite classy and understated.

I've had that problem too Carolt....back in the days when the smallest size was an 8 and I was smaller than that, it was a huge trial trying to find something that didn't make me look like a waif and stray or playing dress up.

My measurements at the time was 22 inch waist, a bust which you needed a microscope to see (barely a 30) and a nicely sized bottom but not out of kilter with the rest of me...I had curves but teeny tiny ones.

So you know where I'm coming from, Sue...

I do get fed up with assumptions that it's only larger people who are disadvantaged clothes-wise. If you're below a certain size and don't wish to wear teenager's clothes or live in lycra, eg want to buy 'business-type' clothes, it's actually remarkably difficult. I envied normal size women their curves every bit as much as larger women envied them their lack of curves! Lots of normal shops don't stock below a size 10 - once you're past the age where you want to dress at Top Shop, it's actually quite a pain...
