I have been doing that for years.

Just keep telling yourself it's worth it.

    Although it probably isn't:(

I had to write it down to make it real.:D

Deff won't happen until the mortgage is paid off, then a slush fund for a pension...then maybe I will indulge myself. I reckon I could be 50+ by then ;-0....on the other hand, I have a real urge to'drop out' at the mo. I think it's the corp environment we are in makes me feel all twitchy. But needs as must and all that :D
I will conform and keep my head down until all personal financial goals are achieved. Ha ha.:D

AIUI what you have, but most of us don't, is brand equity. Carry on the way you are building the business, undertake your brand extension and then you can employ a gifted designer, run the company, do the Masters and still have money coming in

That feeling I know very well.

I seem to have been dancing to someone elses tune all my life. I am like the girl in the little red shoes, my feet are blistered and bleeding and yet on I dance.........

It is entirely my own fault, I keep moving my own goalposts.

I remember that story....it was horrid, really scared me when I was small.

Goalposts? That's what it is. I keep moving them.

I am OCD on being mortgage free now...it's all I can think about but I don't have a single friend or aquaintance who feels the same way.

I am missing out on some great rates at the moment.

I was the same, completely and utterly obsessed with getting shot of my mortgage and like you I was dancing to a drummer no one else could hear.

If I even hinted to anyone that I was overpaying my mortgage, they looked at me like I was a giraffe come to tea.

My mortgage (interest) is cheaper than an oompa loompa.

I can't hear the same drums; I prefer to invest monies rather than repay the debt.

My daughter starts her masters next month - thanks to everyone who showed such interest. :A

She was worried about the finances and has been working every minute she could cram in but, a miracle has occurred, the uni has given her a full bursary.

Needless to say she is over the moon. The pressure is off and the money she is earning can be put aside for books, car running costs etc. etc.

Our pocket will be helped too. Freed up to concentrate on child no. 2 :D

When we got to the point of being mortgage free, we decided to move. Having done it once, we can do it again we thought. Now we are in that position again where we could be mortgage free, though the tax pain of taking the money out of the business, coupled with an exceptional low interest rate on our mortgage, means we won't actually get rid of the mortgage.
