Shame about the chick. Isn't the trick not to name them, so you don't get too attached?

On a smaller scale, I've killed a cyclamen. Don't know how. Watered it. Drained the excess water away and put it in a dry drought free, warm, but not direct sunlight, position. Drooped leaves, collapsed stalks, recycling bin.

I get attached whatever. By naming them I can differentiate them. I never like to give anything a number. By being attached I know I give the best care possible. Is it harder....yes, probably, but on me not them, and its me who has the choice in the relationship. Its a small moral safeguard for myself. I used to spend a lot of time in abattoirs: I know how I want to feel about it, and its not dispassionate. :o

    That's the trick in life.

Deciding who you are and how you want to feel.

LIR, I like you. I can see why your husband had the good sense to marry you.

You have a decent streak a mile wide

Thank you. I like you too. I also have a very less decent streak at least twice as wide, but I'm only human. :D

    Sounds very nice!

I'm not a vegetablist, however I am very partial to quorn mince. So easy to do so much with. Makes fantastic shepherds/cottage pies!
    MMMMMMMM!:D

Absolutely, lj.... and no sudden bits of gristle or bone to bite on either (ugh!). When I did, back in the mists of time, eat meat I used to get ultra lean beef minced to order. I couldn't stand fatty meat, let alone finding anything more unpleasant in it!

Think I was always meant to be veggie really. :)
