New Driveway Quote

Hi
I've had a quote today for a new driveway. My neighbour used the same company and they were happy with the results.
It is at the rear of the property, which is currently garden so it is from scratch.
The area to be block paved is approx 22feet wide by around 16 feet in length.
The kerb to be dropped
New fencing and double gates.
A tree and brickbuilt BBQ to be destroyed and my shed to be moved.
The quote is £5800 - i have no idea but this seems a lot?
Any help would be great!

Sounds excessive. Ask your neighbour how much they paid for theirs to be done. Need some more information to give you a proper answer though.
Is there adequate access to the back of the garden? can a tipper get straight there? can a mini digger get there or is it all coming out by hand and then wheelbarrowed around the front? will they be leaving a skip? what type of block is it? marshalls or a cheaper alternative? How long is the fence? is it wood or metal? is it a big tree? Is it a big shed?0 -

Well i've got them to drop to £4900
Rear garden backs onto another close so easy access. Next door already had it done in concrete and changed to block paving. Theirs goes right up to their front as they are end terraced and i'm mid terraced, so probably difficult to compare as the jobs are so different. Also their kerb was already dropped.
Fence is about 8 6ft panels plus the gates on top. These will be wooden.
Tree is a dead cherry tree, maybe 12feet tall and shed is just your average garden shed.
As for the actual blocks, im not sure just the standard ones, not cheapest though.
I would assume a skip would be needed as there will be a lot of waste!0 -

Thanks, just had a look. So mine is about right as it's 50m square plus the gates, fencing, a pathway and the dropped kerb.
