Bank accounts refused :(

  • I had another phone call from Co-op this morning (nice that they want my business and will phone back) and they have suggested the cashminder account, so I will put that in the letter I am about to send them. Will see where that goes before making any more moves with things! I can see now I've been going for the wrong accounts too :(

I did read about CIFAS on a sample version of a credit report - I am beginning to think that lines of credit my father will have used are on my report, and vice versa.

Anyway, his DRO will expire shortly and he will be getting his report to see whats on that too.

You'll be ok with the cashminder, go for it if they offer you one. I have one and it is ok for a basic account. No cheque book or overdraft but it does all the basics for me.
  • Try opening an account with RBS UK
Click on current accounts and apply for one. I have no problems with this bank, I have 4 bank accounts with them plus a credit card account.

OP make sure you check that your dad is not being mixed up with you with this credit agency-

It's very important to do this as they are the "hidden" credit reference agency.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
