Bond returned - money deducted for cleaning

I'm having a nightmare of a time with this agency. Not only did they lie to me regarding agency fees when transferring from one of their managed properties to another now they've deducted £30 from my bond for cleaning. I left the property in a similar state if not better than what it was in.
Do you guys take pictures when you move in? I really don't want this to happen again. They didn't even inform me that they were going to do so, else I would have done the requested cleaning myself.
This is so frustrating.

When you say that you left the property in a similar state if not better do you mean it was a mess. Well, that really is irrelevant.
Your next statement gives the impression that you did not do any cleaning ie
else i would have done it myself.
To be honest, if you didnt do the cleaning before you left you should consider yourself lucky that they only charged you 30 quid.
Next time, take photos going in and going out.
Best to move on on this one methinks.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Once you have surrendered the tenancy you don't have the right to do the cleaning yourself - your best bet is to attend checkout, did you? Are you intending on disputing the £30 charge? You should have been informed in writing about any deductions, have you checked the deposit scheme's website to see what the procedure and timescales are?
It is the landlord/ letting agents responsibility to prove the condition of the property when tenants move in, usually this is detailed in a dual signed inventory and/ or photographs. You can do so as well for your own protection if you wish, it's more important to document the condition of the property as you exit, and to have reported all problems with the property which crop up during the tenancy in writing so you have a paper trail.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
