After the first anniversary month and the credit limit taken out there is not a lot of use for the green egg card. I think this might have been the idea behind the the blue egg card. You could purchase on this while your green egg was tied up. I never bothered to apply.
as I had a Cap one circle rebate (1%). Cap one l is now only 0.5% for me now after a year.

You can transfer balances between MBNA cards if there is a non-MBNA card in the middle (e.g. MBNA -> Egg -> Virgin) but as they will transfer to current accounts why bother? Just get the cash and do it yourself.

    I don't think the £5 min pay on MBNA/Virgin is a mistake.

I mean its in their interest to do that. The less you pay off in the first 6 months. The more you have to carry over into normal interest rates when it expires.

Galstonian , can you answer me this?

I currently have a Virgin card, the introductary rate expired 4 months ago.

If i applied for a normal MBNA card, would i get the 0% introductary rate?

If the new card is an Super Balance Transfer card then you can to transfer money from the new card into your current account and then make payment to your old card. Transfer between MBNA cards effected.

OK, besides Virgin then, and their own 'MBNA' branded cards. what are the other major differently branded cards that MBNA are behind?

I think i will be applying for another.

I can't answer for MBNA but I'd be surprised if they didn't give you a card. If you can I would also suggest you call Virgin and say you want to close the card, more often then not they will offer a better rate, often 0%

New offer in the post the other day came from Abbey (provided by MBNA) 0% for 12 months

I will apply for this and if successful I will have 3 cards issued by MBNA.

    T&C
The Minimum Payment you must make will be shown on your monthly statement.

Will not accept transfers from Cards or Loans issued by MBNA
