can i ask your opinions on what price you would offer on a new build priced at £156,000.
my friend is buying one from taylor wimpey and is thinking of offering £151,000.
she has sold her property allready so i think she is in a good position to offer a bit less than this.
what are your thoughts please?

we bought a new build, due completion april from Persimmon.
Advertised as £189,950. Offer of £185,000 with carpets, turf, upgrades (£5,000 worth) accepted.
Surveyor valued at £180,000. Persimmon finally agreed £180,000 with carpets and vinyl in house (£1,800 worth) and we have paid for other extras ourself.
So we have got nearly £10k off asking prices and carpets. And we could have pushed for more extras but wanted it signed and sorted xx0 -
I've looked at Taylor Wimpey and Persimmons. The TW lady said she could offer 10k discount on a 135K property and PS said 20K off a 150k (but said she would need to ask head office).
I had visited both sites twice and shown them I was a serious buyer. I am not very good at haggling and those where the first discounts I was offered.
Go for 10k discount and then start asking for 'extras'0 -
thanks for your replies.
i know she is nervous about offering less but i think i will sugest she should try and get a few extras thrown in.sealed pot challenge member #9200 -

I keep telling myself that if you offer less the worst thing that can happen is that they refuse. At the end of the day they want to make commission too so you could alway up your offer and you don't really loose anything.0
