Make Yer Own Rice Crispies

I was trying to make coffee out of rice when I discovered this by accident. If you put a load of rice in an oven tray and toast it in the oven, hey presto, rice crispies. You can grind these up (or grind Kellogg's rice crispies up) and make coffee in the usual way, providing you don't mind your coffee tasting of rice crispies. You can also add it to proper ground coffee to make it go further. Or, of course, you can add some milk and have a homemade snap crackle and pop breakfast.
Now you may ask why we were crazy enough to be trying to make coffee out of rice. My father was a Far East prisoner of war, and he told me how they made their coffee out of rice.

To buy or not to buy, need not be in question

I always thought rice would only pop in a vacuum or low pressure chamber. now I know different, I'm going to try it too. I have 3 kinds of rice here, I'll try them all & see what happens. I'm going to watch it through the oven door

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0
