we are meant to be completing tomorrow, been a long saga, short of it is the building warrant needed is not with our solicitor yet... can we complete if for eg, the work that has been done (fixing dodgy loft conversion) has been passed but just awaiting paperwork coming through?
i heard something about retention of our money to the seller till building warrant paperwork comes through.
many thanks

If someone speaks very nicely to the Building Control Officer then they will email a copy. We've had a final inspection and the certificate in the inbox within hours. It should easily suffice until the original document arrives.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thankyou Doozergirl, hopefully this will be the case for us. The whole process has been a hassle from the off.0

All depends on whether the solicitor is prepared to tell the lender that the warrents have been given and in turn whether the lender will release the cash.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. (someday!) we have have to put up with neighbours shennanigans! (access issues on his part), that is issue number two on the hitlist!

the lwyersigns up to 15 professional undertakings in the course of purchase, more in fact and most to the lender.
if the lawyer is happy to sign off, then no need to report anything to the lender.
building warranty (NHBC for eg) is too important, so not until a final inspection has been signed off would I complete. no chance. My posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:
My bad spelling...well I rush type these opinions on my own time, so sorry, but they are free.:o0
