Hi
I've currently got a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 750SB, which is a 17" flat screen CRT and has served me very well for the last 3 years.
Sadly I've managed to knacker some of the screen earlier today whilst cleaning it and I have some rather odd marks at the centre top of the screen. It looks like I've possibly worn off some of the outer coating of the screen and it really is quite distracting.
After a bit of browsing it seems that CRTs are hard to get these days and there are a lot more TFT models around, however, I'm really not too familier with the TFT specs.
I've gathered that 8ms is a decent response time, and I'm assuming the higher the figures for brightness and contrast the better... although I'm not too sure what a reasonable level is. What has me a little confused is the dot pitch.
My current monitor has 0.25 dot pitch, with the one before that being 0.26, however, pretty much all the TFTs I've seen are around the 0.29 mark. Surely this would mean the image would be less sharp that that which I'm used to?
Is dot pitch measured differently for tft monitors, or is it just a case of you only get a decent dot pitch on the higher end models?
Any advice would be appreciated.
