For those of you who have stayed there... we will be staying next sat for an early 6am flight on sunday. Could you tell me how long it takes to get to the North Terminal with their shuttle service? I'm trying to think ahead and know at what time to leave the hotel..
thanks in advance..

allow at least 20/25 minutes - there will be people with luggage, prams, kids and god alone knows what else - better to get there early than late.
check with the hotel that they definitely do run a shuttle at that time in the morning - some don't!"What goes around - comes around

I stayed there in June and they didn't have a shuttle service then. We parked in the APH car park and from leaving the TL to arriving at the South Terminal, it took an hour."Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0

There is a shuttle that runs from the hotel to the airport. It is not operated by Travelodge though. I think it runs every half an hour. Give the hotel a call and they can advise on the times.
It is only 3 miles to the terminal, but I am not sure what route the bus will take.
The bus picks people up from various hotels on the way.
There is a charge involved per person. Not sure what it is, but if you are a family, it may work out cheaper to get a taxi there.
I should know... I work for Travelodge! "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -
Is there a way of contacting each TL directly ?, I only had the general number and when enquiring about shuttles got very little help at all. But, if you say they are not run by TL, maybe the person I spoke to just didn't know.
It seemed strange being almost on the runway, yet it took an hour to get there!."Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0 -

Here you go. (May not be 100% accurate but it is as close as heck)
Transport links:
Gatwick Airport railway stn - ¾m
Gatwick airport - 2m
Bus service (National Express) to and from both airport terminals is £3 per person. Operates every day (except Christmas Day) between 0300-2300.
Local bus route available
Telephone number is: 0870 191 1531 When promted do NOT press anything and it will take you straight through to the receptionist!
Hope this helps. "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -
We used the bus service. It turned up dead on time (5.30 - 6.00 am) and seemed to be carrying airline crew as well as the odd holidaymaker. Transfer went very smoothly. You just wait under the hotel canopy and the bus stops for you.
Travelodge were rather unhelpful - I asked for a room near the foyer so we wouldn't disturb people with fire doors slamming and lift motors running. They said they couldn't over-ride the computer booking system and we found ourselves at the far end of the top floor. Also there were no alarms in the rooms when we stayed, they said we could borrow one from reception if we paid a deposit! So go prepared if you have an early flight. We did complain to their head office so maybe they will have them now?0 -
Hi We stayed there at the end of May nice clean hotel - we got a taxi to and from the airport which was £10 each way - I think the shuttle is £3 and does start at 5am0
