Free voip calls when credit expires

I have held back from paying money to voipcheap/buster etc. because their FAQ is ambiguous about whether, once you have paid your money, the free calls continue after the credit expires. However, Martin now says “The credit only lasts 180 days from the last paid for call, though free calls can still be made once the credit’s run out.”. Has anyone tested this out? I am looking for someone who can confirm they are still making free calls, though they have no credit left. I do not make a lot of calls, so it is not worth me paying money every 180 days.

    No you can't.

And it changed to 120 days some time ago (prior to that it was 180 days).

And, as I understand it, it's 120 days from the last credit purchase, not 120 days from the last paid for call.

Thanks. Looks like it's not worth paying.

No the condition is in the article on this web site on phone calls from your pc. It says:

    "The Cheapest Webphone providers

There are vast differences of price between Webphone providers. Big players like Tesco have entered this market place, yet requiring you to pay upfront for the kit and charge and calls that are cheaper than mainstream phone providers but not close to the cheap ones.

Having compared 15 Webphone providers, the cheapest by far are two little sister companies VoipStunt and VoipCheap. Neither have a set-up fee, but both require you to have £10 call credit before they can be used. Those providers that don’t require any initial outlay have much higher call costs.

The credit only lasts 180 days from the last paid for call, though free calls can still be made once the credit’s run out. Both allow short test calls to see if you’re happy with the quality before paying your £10."

Seems Martin may have got this wrong, but I can not see anywhere to notify errors in the articles on this site.

€10 + 16% Vat I pay for VoIP Stunt isn't bad at all, that works out at 49.5 pence per week for 300 mins of free calls to many countries, after the 300 mins you are charged 1c per minute to the free destinations, other destinations are pretty cheap, plus you can use all the credit for the chargeable destinations. Not a bad deal I think, with VoIP Stunt the credit lasts for 180 days.

Have to say though it was only recently they started to implement the expiry, by using other services from this group I managed to have over 14 months of free calls for €6 (Six Euro) has only recently just paid my first €10 top up.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Perhaps Martin meant that the free calls are available within the 180 [now 120] day period, after the credit is used up. This wouldn't imply free calls for a long time, which is what you are looking for by the sound of it
