I think a lot of NRP would be surprised at the true cost of bringing up children. It actually does cost more than the Child benefit. I bet it also costs more than 25% of their wage. Where else can you get full time childcare and all inclusive board and lodging for that price?
I hope this shows another side to these statements. It's not always that straightforward and simple.
i also have 2 that live with me, so i am well aware of how much children cost.
it's just that we are able to budget properly and use ebay and charity shops.
i quit smoking and rarely go to the pub, don't buy designer clothes etc, etc.
the idiots who plead poverty in this country, are just crap at budgetting.NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.
and, please. only thank when appropriate. not to boost idiots egos.0 -
quick example.
the only thing i've had to buy so far this month is some school shoes for my little one.
took her to clarks and got her measured, just snapped up a nearly new pair on ebay for £4 including postage!
my ex will go out and pay full whack (£30) then expect me to cough up.
afaic, if ebay shoes are good enough for one of my children, then they're good enough for the others.

Just a few comments to point out that nothing is black and white, every case should be taken on its merits, and just because you have had a bad experience speedster then there are just as many PWC's out there who can tell their own tales of woe.
aye. obviously every case is different.
but the points i highlighted are pretty much the "norm". especially as affordable housing goes. not only have i had to get a mortgage, i had to get a bigger house than i needed to facilitate contact too. ex sits pretty in her council house that costs a 1/4 of mine, yet still pleads poverty?? muppet.
it's not a case of pwc bashing, it's a case of putting things into perspective, and in a lot of cases the nrp has had their whole world ripped out from underneath them and then gets the privilidge of being treated as irrelevant by the pwc, csa, cafcass (don't get me started on those fools) courts, bliddy everyone, in fact.
at the end of the day the pwc gets to tuck their kids in at night. a hell of a lot of them need a reality check and to stop their bloody whining.NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.

Speedster, I will assume you are NOT like my useless ex, who avoids paying child support whilst living a VERY nice lifestyle on IT specialist wages. If you stop assuming a PWC would be a benefit claiming, council house living contact avoiding woman (as apart from being female I am none of the above)
My ex ran off with the baby sitter (classy!), I gave him loads of contact with our daughter, which HE decided wasn't good enough and bullied me constantly to do exactly what he wanted finally taking me to court, where the judge not only told him off for the bullying but also pointed out I'd been more than fair to the point I was not having decent quaility time with my daughter actually living with me!! He then had three more children and decided that our daughter didn't need to be supported, however he demands his 'rights' to contact without the responsibilties (I could be in Eastenders):rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
yup. you're right! nothing like that at all.
you can understand the stereotyping of pwc's when you live where i do!! i see and hear it for myself. in real life, not just cyber land!
the constant whining is what pizzes me off the most.
i was in the post office queue the other day posting off an ebay sale and 2 skanky little mutts were moaning about having to wait an extra day for their giro cos she ran out of fags and "tyson" needed his pedigree chum and the other one was moaning she'd had to reschedule her tattoo appointment. yup, kids are benefitting from my taxes there aren't they. skanks like that should be sterilised. end of.

If that is the case then it is a remarkable coincidence that the amount my Husband had to pay increased significantly after we got married and the CSA bullied us into giving my details by telling us they would double the amount he had to pay as an interim measure until they received my details.0 -

Yep, that pizzes me off too! Thats my bleeding taxes paying for that too!! But don't start me off on benefits
I always admire NRP on here who want to spend time with their children and want to support them fairly. The useless ones like my ex husband give the rest a bad name :rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -

No really. Not all contact is down to the PWC choosing (or not as the case may be)
And it's not me he's not choosing not to have anything to do with - it's his child.
But then chirlish (that's means childish btw) comment from you is just the usual to be expected when you have been proven wrong. Again0 -

Yes but the problem is that you automatically assume that every PWC that comes on here is like the one you describe above AKA your ex.
She's treated you like !!!!!!...okay, okay, we get it but can't you just see past that rather than, instead of doing something constructive to get your seething anger out, come on here and speak to every PWC as if they are the crap of the earth. And you do
I have never seen you speak to a PWC in a pleasant way or try and help.
You are clouded by your ex relationship and the fact by the sounds of it you don't stay in a very nice area and are exposed to the worst of the worst lone parents.
I'd never see my child in second hand shoes...christ knows what you could pick up from them:eek: but I go out and work harder/more hours to get brand new....nothing like your ex but of course us PWC are all like her *yawn*
You go on and on about childs best interests, contact yaka yaka and yet the bitterness and anger in you must be affecting your poor child...probably more than the (apparant) crap life she has with her Mum0
